100 Word Challenge Week #4

The Balloon

The red balloon floated high above the clouds in the morning, and was among the flickering stars in the evening, but later that day I could no longer see it. I had let it go in hope that one day it would find it's way back to me, but I was just a little girl dreaming. Now I'm an adult, so there is no way that this red balloon that somehow ended up on my front porch could ever be the one I let go years ago. But deep, down inside of me, I hoped that it was.

100WC Week #3

    River of Peace

Floating along the mountain coast I graze my hand along the water, rippling it. I yank out my umbrella and slow the motor until the spitting of the engine stops to nothing. I hit a hard rock and my knee turns bright red! It swells up as we turn the corner of the mountain. Suddenly, a frog jumps onto the ledge of my raft! It croaks a loud and slightly obnoxious frog croak and leaps back into the water. Such a big splash for just a little frog.
"Jackie! Wait up!" A distant voice calls.
It was so mesmerizing and peaceful I didn't recognize my brother followed me.

100 Word Challenge Week #2

Poutine

Taunting me the sweet, savoury smell filled the air as I joined the queue, I was basically drooling!
"You know they're supposed to be the best poutine truck in all of Canada." Courtney squealed as she tapped me on the shoulder.
I nodded excitedly. There were no words for my happiness! The line had shortened to four people in front of us. As we waited in the queue we counted the seagulls that flew over us. Excitement was bubbling inside of me as we walked forward. The line felt like eternity but it didn't matter as soon as I took the first bite.

100 word challenge week #1

Mt. Chupchake

The thin paper was tearing as I grabbed the top. Pushing myself up I grasped a handful of icing. A climber hoisted themselves upon a monstrous marshmallow as I looked beside me. Inhaling cinnamon, I sneezed, it burned but that didn’t matter, for I had hiked Mt.Chupchake. I rushed over to the lake of chocolate and threw my hand into it. Tugging and pulling my hand out cautiously the chocolate dripping off my finger tips.
“ROBBIE!” A voice called.
Suspiciously, I scanned the area around me.
“ROBBIE!” The voice called again.
Suddenly, I woke up from the glorious cupcake dream.
